Birdwatching With Billy In Spain
Billy and Di welcome you to part of Spain, that doesnt seem to get very much press in the UK. The mighty river ebro ends in a fantastic delta on the mediterranean with a variety of birds that seems second to none.
This is a rural part of Spain not like the hustle and bustle of commercial resorts, Top class restaurants and tapas bars at a fraction of the price we are charged in the UK.
Just off the coast and inland less than a mile there are the famous rice fields and freshwater lakes which attract an enormous variety of birds (Waders, Warblers, Birds of Prey and many more different birds ) and not being an expert by any stretch of the imagination would like to learn from the more experienced birdwatcher, who might take the opportunity to visit the ebro delta in Spain. Guided tours are available to anyone who requires transporting around the delta.
The tour will begin with a trip around the delta stopping off at the viewing towers that are dotted all around the delta and the information centre at CASA DE FUSTA, and maybe a wander off the beaten track if anything is spotted along the way, anyone who has their own ideas or plans need only suggest and we will do our best to accommodate.
We are also offering the opportunity of a boat trip on Spains river ebro to access birdwatching areas that would not normally be seen without the use of a boat. The birds you are most likely to see include warblers, bee eaters all the different types of heron and egrets birds of prey and i have even seen osprey catching fish (a brilliant sight) and some birds that i dont know the names of. Any help in the recognition of these would be appreciated.
For the more independent guest whom would like to set their own agenda B and B would still be available at a sensible prices. For the hikers and ramblers we have the flatness of the delta (which is in my view Spains answer to the fens of lincolnshire UK) and the ruggedness of the spanish mountain tracks for the fitter and more capable rambler. For the guests who would just want to be dropped off in this area of Spain and picked up later on in the day, this can be arranged.
